Mohamed Mustaq is the music instructor and founder of AM School of Music. He completed his theory of music and piano practical examinations from Trinity College of London under the guidance of his mentor and uncle Mr. A . Abdul Sattar (the senior most music teacher in Chennai who has won Teacher's Cup for 28 years, Best Music Teacher award for many years and mentor of film composers like Harris Jayaraj, D.Imman and so on.). He worked with his mentor as an assistant teacher for more than 10 years. Besides the teaching job with his mentor, he was also conducting private classes at his residence. In about 22 years of his teaching career, he has taught many students from the age of 6 to 80, from music lovers to professionals. His students ranging from the initial level to the advanced level have passed the examinations with distinction along with excellent remarks from the examiners. Some of his students have also won awards for achieving highest marks in their respective grades. Many of his students have gone to become performers, composers and teachers. He has a wide range of teaching repertoire from western classical to popular songs. Love and passion towards music and teaching, being able to explain things in a simple way with patience, planning lessons according to the student's age and skill, bringing out the best from the students are his strengths.
